Walking with Cookie
Story
Why we’re walking 💛
We’ve created this team to walk in Melanoma March in support of our teammate James Cook and the life-changing work of Melanoma Institute Australia (MIA).
James was diagnosed with stage IVc metastatic melanoma in November.
Due to MIA's outstanding research, clinical trials, and treatment, James is responding incredibly well, with outcomes that are nothing short of a miracle.
As James continues on his journey toward NED (no evidence of disease), we want to keep raising awareness and supporting the research that makes outcomes like this possible, not just for James, but for so many others.
Why MIA matters to James (and to us)
James has approached his diagnosis with endless optimism and strength. He continues to show up for each and every one of us at work, just as he always has. True to form, he doesn’t want a song and dance, something he regularly reminds us of, but he does want to educate, raise awareness, and continue supporting the incredible work of MIA.
The work done at MIA is the reason James is here today, and he is endlessly grateful for their care.
If you are looking for a way to support James, his wish is simple: please support Melanoma Institute Australia, so they can continue their vital research, care, and breakthroughs for patients now and into the future.
Thank you for supporting a cause that means so much to so many of us, and for helping MIA continue the work that gives people hope.
Please note: James did not approve the photo used on this page.
This image is shared as a reflection of who James is at his core. A man of strength, resilience, and deep passion for his work. The photo was taken while James was in Europe, being filmed for work. At the time, he was unknowingly living with cancer, yet he continued to show up with the same commitment, energy, and care that defines how he approaches everything he does.
Even during a period he didn’t yet understand would change his life, James gave 100% to his work, his team, and the people around him. That quiet dedication speaks volumes, and it’s one of the many reasons we are proud to walk alongside him in support of Melanoma Institute Australia.
