I’m marching in the Melanoma March in Manly and have created this fundraiser for a very personal reason - my mum.

In 2018, my mum was diagnosed with stage III melanoma. What followed was an incredibly scary and uncertain time for our family. She went through multiple surgeries, endless appointments, and the constant fear that comes with not knowing what the future holds. Watching a parent face cancer is something that stays with you forever, the worry and helplessness is overwhelming. 

Thankfully, after years of resilience and determination and all those horrible MRI’s, my mum has now been clear for a couple of years. She’s living her best life and I couldn’t be prouder of her strength, courage, and perseverance through such a frightening time.

I’m marching to celebrate her strength and to show her just how incredibly proud I am of her. I am also marching in honour everyone who has been heartbroken by the news of a parent being diagnosed with this cancer.

All donations will be going towards Melanoma Institute Australia’s life-saving research.
