Win's Warriors
Story
Dear Friends and Family,
Just over two years ago, our lives changed abruptly when I hit a "speed hump". Overnight a large lump appeared on my left thigh, resulting in a diagnosis of Metastatic Melanoma Stage 3. This resulted in several weeks on immunotherapy, followed by major surgery.
Thankfully I am now currently in the clear, and just dealing with lymphodema as a result of the large number of lymph nodes removed.
But I am one of the lucky ones as we reclaim our lives. I am back on the tennis court and spending quality time with our grandchildren, both here and in Canada.
At the time of diagnosis, I was told that had this happened a couple of years earlier, my options and outcome could have been very different. Research has resulted in tremendous advances in the treatment of melanoma, and all funds raised from this march will help to advance this research.
Only 3 months ago, my sister Barbara was found to have melanoma on her forearm. Thankfully early diagnosis and treatment were available for her.
It is upsetting to see so many younger people dealing with melanoma - many have young familites too.
My wonderful family team want to help me to make a difference so if you can help, please do so. Just click on "Donate Now" to make a secure online donation which is tax deductible. Nothing is too small, every little bit helps to fund research to fight this dreadful disease.
Thank you so much for your wonderful support.
